Cabbage Rolls and Mom

German Cabbage Rolls (Crockpot)
1 package seasoned rice, cooked
1/2 lb. pork sausage, browned
2 lb hamburger, browned
1 small onion chopped
1/2 tsp garlic juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 eggs
1 small can sauerkraut
1 cabbage
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 8oz. cans tomato sauce
Blanch cabbage leaves. Brown meat, drain. Add rice, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, eggs and kraut. Wrap meat mixture in cabbage leaves, secure with toothpicks. Layer in crock pot. Top with brown sugar and tomato sauce. Cook low all day or 6-8 hour.
I like to use seasoned tomato sauce. I am not a huge cabbage roll fan and these might sound awful. They did to me but they are so good! I layer the brown sugar and tomato sauce as I layer the cabbage rolls. This makes a huge recipe and can be halved. It is a little time intensive to get ready but it is so great to get it all in the pot and smell it all day. A real good cool weather meal.
Steph was asking about mom and I went and we ran some errands and went and traded some books. They didn't have the book you wanted Steph but that doesn't mean they won't get it. What section would it be in? Romance, paranormal? We looked in all the sections and the gal helped me but I just don't think it was there. I will keep looking.
Anyway this is a good mom story. She called me right before I went over there and told me she couldn't find her credit card and drivers license. She was afraid she had lost them in WalMart or the parking lot. She said as she was leaving the check out she thought she stuck them down in her purse but they weren't there.
I asked if she had contacted the credit card company and she said no. I told her to get out her statement and look for customer service number. She said she didn't know what card she had. (what the name of the company carrying the card was) and I couldn't remember. I said you know where your statements are just go get one and it will say on there.
I talked to her again before I left and she said there was no number on the statement to call. I told her every statement had a number to call. She said hers didn't so I said I would be there in a minute.
I got over there and she had her Walmart ticket out and was talking to Walmart. She was reading the sku numbers off her ticket and telling them what she had bought. Don't ask me.
She said they didn't find a card or her liscense. Well, that doesn't surprise me especially at that Walmart. I figured if someone found it at that one it would be maxed out by now so why hadn't she looked for her statement again? She was talking to them and had been for at least half an hour and I couldn't figure out why she was reading off her grocery list I decided to look for her card in her purse again.
Before that I went and got the statement and showed her where the number was and what her card was. She didn't look at the second page. That is where the numbers are. OOOOOhhhhhhh. So I thought I would look in her purse one more time and yep! Found the card and the drivers liscense in her wallet. haha
After I found it she was so relieved but was so shook up she was shaking. So I started joking with her and she got better and we got ready to go and she said, oh, by the way,
(this is the good part)
I got a Visa today. It will be coming in the mail. Me "Oh, you got another card to lose now. So where did you get the number to get the new card?" her "Yellow pages" Me "Why?" Her "I don't know" Me " So you lost your Master Card, and instead of calling them and canceling, when you couldn't find it, you just decided you were going to get a Visa instead?" Her "Yes" You gotta love her! I have been snickering all day.
