Funny Memory-Old Post

Bye Bye Yahoo/Funny Memory
Well there are rumors everywhere that there is going to be no more yahoo. I have seen several links and with the way things are going with the whacky alerts and pictures missing and people not being able to even get messages it wouldn't surprise me.
So I have been printing all my blogs. I know a lot of people are backing their blogs up or moving them. I wanted to print them to give to my daughter for future generations. Like they might be interested. Interesting enough I have done little cheese and it has mostly been about every day life. It is a hefty novel to say the least.
What I will miss the most is the comments I have gotten because to me they are the best part of my blog. They don't print out well so I wasn't able to get them. I guess yahoo doesn't care about us aging bloggers and is thinking of appealing to a younger audience. I don't think it will fly. I think yahoo is a unique community and that is what makes it special. If they do what everyone else is doing it will be just same old same old and their loss.
I have been reading about family stuff from a lot of people and it reminds me of my own.
You have to know my mom and dad but they are two of the most honest people on the face of the earth. When my dad was alive his only false hood that I know of was telling people who called to sell him siding that he had siding and people who called to sell him storm windows that he had moved and wasn't in that house any more but got to take his phone number to the new house.
We had this aunt, my great aunt, my dad's aunt, his dad's sister or step sister that used to always come right at dinner time and wait to be asked to eat with us. After dinner she would always ask for a doggie bag to take home so she would have lunch for her husband to take to work the next day. I swear! Nervy huh? lol
This was one of the meanest, most obnoxious women I have ever known. Just like her brother. That side of the family all have a mean streak, except for my dad. She was a great big woman with huge flapping arms that used to mesmerize me when she would beat anything. Mom had a mixer but she had never used one and I have never seen anyone before or since that could beat anything that fast with her arms flapping like huge skin wings. She was married to the nicesst man. She put him right in the ground. He took care of her and worked. She was a hypochondriac and at one time said she had to lay on the sheets naked because the sheets irritated her skin. Charlie(her husband) had to bathe her. Gouge out my minds eye.
Anyway, my dad got tired of her coming to dinner all the time. After all there were times when we struggled. So he saw her pull up one day and yelled "Hide the food! Henrietta is here!" We were really young. I wasn't even a teen yet. I was having such a hard time keeping from laughing. I couldn't believe my mom and dad were doing this. We ran around and put all the food in the cabinets and when she came in she could smell it and my dad knew it so he told her he was sorry she missed dinner but we just got it all cleaned up. She probably didn't believe us because we were all sitting around the table looking suspicious, guilty or both.
After she left we got the food out and ate like nothing ever happened.

And just where the heck does Yahoo propose to go??? Lol I got a crap load of alerts today too but not that many. Have you seen anything 'official' from Yahoo about it? I haven't seen anything about it at all. I have blogs all over the place but yahoo was the most fun because there are some great people here and you could change your page every minute if you wanted. (And I did!!) Damned... You better NOT get out of touch with me...I'll be on Aol, MSn, Blogspot, Myspace...LMAO. Crap I'm like the crabs...I'm pretty much everywhwere !!! *Hugs*

I think it's pnly Yahoo PHOTOS that is closing down. They are putting in new chat servers so chat should be back up soon...per Yahoo Answers. The messages we have all been getting seem to just be a glitch...maybe they are ready to get out of BETA and shove us over to some new servers or whatever too...

Love the aunt story.According to Mr E he talked to somebody who assured him that 360 wasn't being closed down. Check out his blog on yesterday.I have way to much to loose here. Printing would put me bankrupt.

I am just going to have faith that yahoo is just actually trying to fix a problem that I have been bothered with since march. That story is too funny. I don't really cook so adults never come for dinner unless I tell them I am ordering pizza. Kids however stand at the screen door and watch us eat. Scott says it is rude to eat in front of them, but I think if they get offended they will move away from the door.

That is one beautiful page background you have here! Both the colours and the texture of it!!! Love it..Yea, of course I've read all those rumours too. First in news pages, but as of yesterday also in various blogs here at Y360°. Nobody knows anything... it will be interesting though, to see what they can come up with.I don't think they should just disregard our age group...we're strong buyers too. July 21, 2005 I started to blog in the other account..there's too much to print.

Desparate times call for desperate measures....did the aunt ever try to mooch dinner again?I haven't heard anything about Yahoo selling us down the river. I hope that doesn't happen. You're right, this is a great community. A tight one, and wouldn't be able to be duplicated elsewhere.

Mr. E emailed me and said he heard from a reliable source that 360 isn't going anywhere. I'm not too worried as of yet, because they are just rumors, after all. And besides, you can't go anywhere yet. I've been working on the "commentor types" blog (finally, huh), and you have to be around to read it.

I guess from what Missy says it will just change. I just hope it will be something we can all deal with. The first I heard was from you Webby with the link you sent. https://bouncer.gh.corp.yahoo.com/login?url=http://mosh.yahoo.comThe one no one can sign into. But I saw Java talking about it and then Missy you had something on your blog. So I wasn't sure exactly what was going on. It would be nice to get an announcement from Yahoo. Especially since ATT/Yahoo is my server and I haven't gotten a thing. I subscribe to their news letter.

Rofl at hiding the food lol, but hey I'd end up doing the same thing to break that nasty habit. And oh the visual of getting bathed by her poor hubby eeeeeeewww. I had just finished supper and thought to let my food digest before diving into desert and eeeeeewwww now I desert doesn't look so good anymore lol. I got a notice from yahoo saying they are closing down their photo album oh dhu don't we just love temporary folders we want to put permanent things into. I remember when the science room was the best room (in my mind) to go to for some real good healthy science debate, then yahoo closed off many rooms and all sorts of riff raff including some foreign language and text that just overflowed the room. I finally left and so did all the good ones interested in science leaving a science room for hacking and one night sex pick ups. What in the world was yahoo thinking?Looks at my socks makes sure the wrinkles are even and flips one shoe string over to the side.... huuugs sis.... lol

It really was your favorite wasn't it Mrs. D? heheWabbit. They are closing down albums for anyone but the people that use ATT as a server. But I never use them any more because it is so hard to get to and they took them off the blog front. I know, I am hoping it doesn't turn into myspace. Bends down to tie Wabbit's shoes. Well the rumors floating around are that 360 will close, but a NEW social service called Mosh will be taking its place. There are a few sources of this: TechCrunch http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/07/08/mosh-yahoos-new-social-network-initiative/andPodAngohttp://www.podango.com/podcast_episode/350/29838/The_Latest_at_Yahoo/All_the_Facts_about_Yahoo_MoshAs with anything else, until I have used it i do not believe in it. hehehe... There are also rumors flying that Goggle will be doing offering a new "social networking service" system called SocialStreams in the future as well.

I read the Tech Crunch article T-Bone, but I hadn't gone to the others. Thanks for the links. I did see the new page for google. Webby sent me that too. It is here. http://www.hcii.cs.cmu.edu/M-HCI/2006/SocialstreamProject/socialstream.phpSo it makes me wonder what they are going to do with the blogger they have now. Lots of changes. I'm with you. I have to use it awhile. I know Poppy. I wish they would just add the new one and not change 360.Thanks ATT, we have a bunch. lolLOL, Robin, if your like me, I think all or most of my friends are in my addy book. I am hoping if anything happens I have their yahoo addy to find them. If I don't have some of yours, let me know and we can exchange.I haven't backed mine up any other way but to print them Jen. I just wanted them for my family. It is so time consuming since most of us here have several hundred posts. I don't count the cheese but my art work is on some so I like to keep that. I have most of that on flickr which seems to be pretty stable for now. Glad you plopped sweetie. I always love to see you. Hands Jen a tall cool drink.

I'd not heard anything about yahoo360 closing down so that is a worry (only yahoo photos that I knew of). You are right; we bloggers take a great deal of effort to write down our feelings, what is good in our life etc; it would be terrible to lose it all. In terms of backing up, if we were really serious is there a way to select all and copy into word or how about going into each page and saving all temp internet files somewhere safely. I'm no real techie so perhaps there are better options. Thanks for sharing facts about your family; I'm really pleased you love your Mum& Dad Love TinaCortina xx

I do not think that yahell is closing down. They are closing yahoo photos (thank goodness lol) and they are messing with the chat thingy as well. That's why a lot of people are having problems these days. But what would yahell be without the usual bugs that occur on an almost daily basis *giggles* All the fun would be gone *grins*It's probably the same thing with the messenger. I get messages saying "If you do not forward this to....then you will lose your account...blah blah blah".Much ado about nothing, I guess *smiles*
