Quickie Recipe for Chili-Weird Childhood Eats
I was in a big hurry one day, had some V8 juice that had been sitting in there a few days so I decided to put it in the chili.
I browned 2 pounds of ground beef, threw in 2 packages of Williams Original dry mix and about half of one of thos big jugs of V8. Everyone liked it better than the chili I spent all day making. That was it.
Sometimes I throw in a can of beans and sometimes a whole onion although I like my onion raw on my chili and shreded cheese over spaghetti. Three way.
Lynn was talking about loving red candy and how she is addicted to it.
I was thinking today before I even went to Lynn's page about some of my weird taste preferences as a child. I took a cheese sandwich and a pack of fritos every day of my life to school. I couldn't imagine having to eat meat after it had been in a lunch box for several hours. It is a wonder more kids weren't sick. I think things were fresher bach in the "Viking" days as my daughter used to call my pre-teen years.
I ate salt, tons of salt and just licked it out of my hand. My favorite dip for fritoes was Heinz 57 and mustard mixed together. I can't imagine eating those things now. I also liked raw potatoes.
What weird thing did you like as a kid?
