Putting text & tube on a tile

This is a tutorial I did in psp x. It is for dropping a tube and text on a tile.
I started with a tile about 400 x 400 or 500 x 500 in pink or you can start with white or transparent.  File-new-raster checked.  You can un tick transparent, click on the box and choose a color now if you like.
Click on picture for larger view.
Go to the tube tool, on the left where it looks like a paint tube in your tools, click on that and pick a tube from the drop down box which will be in your tool bar on top of your workspace.
Put it right in the middle of your blank raster layer.  I always use my rulers when I am working to get something centered.  Click View on your toolbar-check-rulers.  You may want to re size your tube smaller or larger.  It is "scale" by your drop down box where you do that.

Go to your materials palette, on the right, the two boxes that overlap and click on the top box.  Click on the pattern tab, current pattern, which should be the square with  your tube you have picked, set the angle and scale like you want it, click ok.
Up on your tool bar find the back arrow  and click back until your tube is off the image on your work space.
Or you can click on new raster layer in the layers palette and put a blank image over the original, and then fill with your pattern.  After that you can right click and delete the bottom layer with the tube in the middle.
Fill your image with the new pattern of multiple images.  If there are any running off the page be sure to get your eraser tool and clean up images that are not whole.
If you like it this way you can save as jpg or png file.
To take it a step further you can add some text if you like.  Go to File-New-and bring up the same size as for your earlier image.
Write something in the middle. Get your text tool, 16th tool down on the left in PSPX and X2, settings-Vector
Type something, and go to Objects-in the top of your tool bar-Align-Center in Canvas.
Right click in your layers palette and click on convert to raster layer.
I wrote welcome.  You can write your name or anything you like. To make it stand out a little more I went up to effects and 3D, then drop shadow and made a darker pink shadow on it. Anything that you want to stand out or make look more dimensional. It will give your tiles depth. I like to create as a vector so I can widen and change the appearance of the text if I want. It brings up the square around the text with the little handle looking thing in the middle so you can turn your words also and put a slant on them if you like.
<>Go back to your materials palette, and click on the pattern tab.  Look for your welcome word and make it the scale and angle you like.
Click ok and use your fill tool, (paint can) once again to fill your multi tubed picture with the word on top. Use your crossed arrows and you can move the word around to get the placement you like.
If you use a new raster every time you put something on it is much easier to go back and take something off. Or you can even go to your layers palette on the right and right click and delete a layer too.
If it looks off center you can either crop or use your selection too and draw a rectangle around your image to square it up.
Go to Image-in your tool bar-Crop to selection.  Save
