Versailles: Louis Le Vau opened up the interio...Image via Wikipedia We got the chance to go to Paris in 1983. It was the trip of my dreams. I love anything about Paris. I love the history and it just seems like such a romantic place. It was everything I hoped it would be and we had no trouble at all. Everyone was very nice. If you make a stab at speaking the language and are patient the Parisians are very helpful.

A highlight of the trip was getting to go to Versailles. It was amazing. I watched *Marie Antoinette* with Kirsten Dunst which was kind of a strange movie but it brought back all these memories and the most fascinating place was on the grounds within walking distance of the palace. It was Marie Antoinette's estate. She had her own separate place from the palace. Go here and you can see the whole thing from the air. It is impressive. Click on immediate take off. It is picture slides from the air. Go here to see some really great videos of the inside of the palace.

We were discussing air fares and rates to Disney World. Our trip to Paris was much less than some of the Disney packages. So if you want to ditch the kids with grandma and grandpa, Paris by the seat of your pants is well worth the money.
