Making a Simple Tile With a Pattern
I have some friends who are just now beginning in PSP so I am going to do some very simple tutorials for them. I have been looking for PSP tutorials and there are very few out there. To see the screen shot at a bigger size click on them.
Open your program and go to file-new, and you will get this box.
Set width and height, mine is 300 in pixels.
Raster layer checked
Transparent cecked
Click ok. You will have a blank image with little squares on it.
Next go to your foreground properties box and left click on it.
In the tab settings click on pattern.
You will get a wide range of patterns.
Click on the arrow of the drop down box where you see the argyle pattern.
Click on the arrow of the drop down box where you see the argyle pattern.
Pick a pattern set the angle and scale or how big you want your printed pattern.
Click ok

Now your pattern is set to use
Go over to the left and get your paint can.
Left click and fill your empty image. Your paint can has to be over the image somewhere.
You now have a pattern on your image but it isn't seamless yet. Go to Effects-Image Effects-Seamless Tile and click on it. This will bring up the box that you can make your tile seamless with. The default is the one that will tile a whole page the best usually and it is the one that comes up if you haven't changed it. Click ok or go to the drop down box and click on default. Click ok

Now all you have to do is save it. File-Save As-and when there is a box that comes up you choose where you want to keep your seamless tiles and what file extension to save them as. Usually jpg or jpeg is the favored extension.
If you would like to use my tutorial please give me credit. Because it's the right thing to do.
